Metamorphic Rocks

The third and final main type of rock is the Metamorphic rock. I have done some research on them.

Metamorphic rocks are like a rock that has "morphed" into a different type of rock. These rocks used to be Igneous or Sedimentary rocks, but how do they change?

A. These rocks are under tons of pressure, which makes heat build up, it gets to the point where it causes them to change. If you look at metamorphic rocks closely, you will see that all the grains are flat.

There are two different types of metamorphic rocks, these are:

Schist (these rocks can be formed fromm basalt, shale or slate.)

Gneiss (these rocks may have been granite.)
